MEET OUR FACULTY

Mr. Jay Jabari

6th-8th Grade Language Arts Teacher

Greetings!  I am a native of California, who has been in Georgia for almost twenty years.  I am married with four wonderful children.

I graduated from Morehouse College and have been teaching for 15 years.  I love teaching and guiding young people because in doing so, they do the exact same for me.  I learn a great deal about myself and the world around me through the gaze of children.  I am inspired by them daily.

Mrs. Valerie Johnson

6th-8th Grade Language Arts Teacher

I was born and raised in Dallas, Georgia.  I graduated from Paulding County High School and went on to The University of West Georgia.  There I received a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.  I taught third grade at Dallas Elementary for five years, and at Allgood Elementary for one year.  Then it was time to get my real education!  It was as my time as a stay-at-home mom that I learned the most about children.  Not every child is the same and they are made with these unique qualities by God for His purposes.  My children attended Promise Christian Academy since its inception in 2005.  It was in 2009 that I was given the opportunity to teach at the school, and it has truly blessed me to be able to serve in this capacity.

I am certified in Early Childhood Education (pre-school through 5th grade), Middle Grades Reading, and Middle Grades Language Arts.  I have three children: Summer, Hope, and Zeke.  I have been married to my husband, Glenn, since 1989.  We live in Draketown and attend Edgepoint Church.  In my spare time I enjoy watching my children participate in band, cheerleading, baseball, and football.  I also enjoy reading, gardening, and other outdoor activities.

Mrs. Sherry Stone

6th-8th Grade Math Teacher

Hi, let me introduce myself.  My name is Sherry Stone, and I am extremely excited about being your child’s 6th-8th grade math teacher.  I have a degree in secondary math education and have taught at McEachern High School and Sylvan Learning Center, as well as homeschooling my own children.  I am a member of Elevate Christian Church, where my husband and I have attended since 1998.  My husband, Sheldon Stone, is a teacher at Still Elementary, and we have two children, Noah and Eli.  I look forward to working along with you and your children this school year!

Mrs. Ashley Hewett

6th-8th Grade Science & Social Studies Teacher

I was born in California and grew up in Gwinnett County. I attended Georgia State University, where I received my Bachelors in Economics. After graduation I went on to get my Masters in Middle Grades Education, also at Georgia State. I am certified to teach reading, language arts, social studies, science, and math.

I met my husband at Georgia State where he was also studying Economics. Our first child, Nehemiah, was born in September.

This will be my fifth year teaching at PCA, and what a wonderful year it will be!
