MEET OUR FACULTY
Mrs. Rita Campbell
4th & 5th Grade Language Arts Teacher
I was born in Rochester, New York and grew up in the San Fernando Valley in California. I am a seasoned educator having taught students for many years. I attended school in California, where I received my Lifetime Teaching Certificate from Mount St. Mary's College, UCLA and Cal State Northridge. I received a BA as well as a Lifetime Teaching Certificate in grades K - 8 after attending school for 5 years. After moving to Georgia, I received my Georgia Certification in Early Childhood and Middle School Language Arts and Social Science. I am also ESOL qualified. I have taught most grade levels from 1st through 8th grade. Recently I worked for Cobb County School District as a Homeless Tutor, Title I Tutor and Flexible Learning Math Tutor.
I am a Master Gardener with Cobb County, where my husband and I have lived for 30 some years. I have three children and seven grandchildren, who are the light of my life. I also have a special child, my border collie named Chief, who keeps me very busy when I am home. When I am not teaching I love to write, draw, sew, machine embroidery, knit, crochet and garden. I am always ready to learn new things.
I am so blessed to be here at Promise and I am so excited to be working with you and your children.
Mrs. Tanya Dawson
4th & 5th Grade Math, Science & Social Studies Teacher
I have lived in Paulding County almost my whole life. I live here with my husband Robert, 2 children: Dara (11) and Gavyn (9), and our dogs Kreacher and Winky. I graduated college from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Middle Grades math and science (4-8) and later got my add-on in Early Childhood Education. God led me into teaching and I'm so grateful He did because it continues to be a fulfilling and joyous journey for me!
This is my sixth year at Promise. Before Promise, I taught 6th grade Science, 4th grade and PE in public schools. I attend church regularly at New Seasons Church. I also play tennis frequently and play on a league here in Atlanta. My other passions include reading, watersports, and crafting. I'm looking forward to a great year with you and your child. I love teaching and I'm so glad to have the opportunity to teach your child!
